Terms of Service

The ground rules for using GigaLearner. The short version: be kind, don't break things, and remember the AI is a brilliant study buddy — not a certified translator.

1. Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — CONFIRM] ("GigaLearner", "we", "us") covering the GigaLearner web app (and the iPhone and Android apps once they launch), and gigalearner.com (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use GigaLearner

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

  • Give us accurate information and keep your login details secure.
  • You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at support@gigalearner.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
  • One person per account, please.

4. AI-generated lessons

Lessons, translations, pronunciation guides, audio and voice-chat replies are generated by AI. We work hard to make them accurate and natural, but they can contain mistakes, and phrasing may vary by region.

GigaLearner is a learning tool, not a professional translation or interpreting service. Don't rely on it for medical, legal, safety-critical or other high-stakes communication — use a qualified professional for those.

5. Plans & billing

  • Free gives you 3 minutes of lesson audio and 20 lessons, one time, plus the first 500 words in each language.
  • Pro is a paid subscription, billed monthly ($9.99) or yearly ($89.99) in US dollars. It includes 30 minutes of lesson audio and up to 500 lessons each month, plus the full word bank. Once the iPhone and Android apps launch, prices there may differ by country.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime; Pro stays active until the end of your current billing period.
  • Once the iPhone and Android apps launch, purchases made in them will be handled by Apple or Google under their terms, including refunds. Web purchases are processed by Stripe; contact us about web refunds [CONFIRM REFUND POLICY].
  • We may change prices; we'll tell you in advance, and changes apply from your next billing period.

6. Lessons, minutes & top-ups

  • Writing or refining a lesson uses one lesson from your allowance. Turning a lesson into audio uses minutes, based on how long the clip actually is. Replaying audio is free.
  • The Free allowance is one time and does not reset. The Pro allowance resets on the 1st of each month (UTC). Unused Pro minutes and lessons do not roll over.
  • Pro subscribers can buy audio top-ups on the web: 15 minutes for $3.99. Top-up minutes never expire and are used only after your monthly minutes run out. They have no cash value, can't be transferred, and [CONFIRM — top-up refund rules].
  • We may change allowances; we'll tell you in advance, and changes apply from your next billing period.

7. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • use the Service to create content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around limits or security in the Service;
  • scrape the Service, resell it, or use automated tools to generate lessons at scale without our permission;
  • impersonate others or misrepresent your relationship with GigaLearner.

8. Your content

You own the scenarios, instructions and other text you put into GigaLearner. You give us a licence to store, process and use that content to run and improve the Service for you. Lessons generated for you are yours to use for your own learning.

9. Our content

The GigaLearner name, logo, app design, word banks and other materials belong to us or our licensors. You can use them through the Service for personal, non-commercial learning, but not copy or redistribute them otherwise.

10. Ending things

You can stop using GigaLearner and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put the Service or other users at risk; where reasonable, we'll tell you why first.

11. Disclaimers & liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION — CONFIRM], and disputes will be handled by the courts there, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

13. Changes & contact
