Language Proficiency (“LP”) level for learning to speak French

The LP level reflects a person’s proficiency in a language by measuring the size of their vocabulary. The LP is broken down into 10 levels as follows:

• Level 1: the 100 most commonly used words.
• Level 2: the 200 most commonly used words.
• Level 3: the 300 most commonly used words.
• Level 4: the 400 most commonly used words.
• Level 5: the 500 most commonly used words.
• Level 6: the 600 most commonly used words.
• Level 7: the 700 most commonly used words.
